The Wandering Sower is a speculative exploration of the desiccated and desolate landscape of Central Asia, where due to careless usage of resources, tree felling and rapid urbanisation, the natural life ceased to exist. The wanderer travels across the harsh and vast wilderness of the oldest part and the ruined site of the ancient and medieval city of Samarkand, Afrasiab. In a symbolic hope for new human-environment relationships she tries to find a new place to grow the new life. The music composed by Ashot Danielyan and The Voice of Trees choir was an experimental endeavour to imagine the dissonant, conflicting and complex relationship between the landscape and the wanderer, while shining with a glimpse of new hope.
